Vivid was active from 1993 until 2001, and started off as a duo, comprised of brothers Damon and Thor Moreno.

Vivid evolved into a heavy 4-piece all instrumental band from Des Moines, Iowa. Originally founded in 1993 by brother's Thor and Damon Moreno. Vivid saw many faces and phases change through their time.

They dubbed themselves an instrumental hardcore band, and 'Not for the Weak or Timid'.

Throughout their online presence, they stylized the band name as ':||: VIVID :||:' (without quotes).

One of their slogans was: 'assign - assert - attain'.

Vivid's sound was described as extremely high energy, power driven, thickass guitar work, with liberal amounts of weird sounds and timing. Thor's guitar playing is truly creative. It's evident that Vivid intentionally avoids the conventional mainstream approach. The rhythm section is equally as powerful with Damon on drums with monstrous double kick work, and David with mud thick bass tones - and Eric's distorted soundscape samples and media work brings this melodic wall of power to circle.

Vivid's collective thoughts were 'assign - assert - attain'. They don't give a fuck for you and yours, they write and play this music for themselves and their fans. They've been around long enough to realize that the majority of people in and around the business are rat bastards and they've since lost their sense of humor. They're not angry; they're just aware. They are not in this for bullshit attitudes and social ranking. This is about one thing, THE MUSIC...

After Vivid, the Moreno Brothers went on together to be in the band 'Pushing Earth'. This later band also had a song called 'Midwest Mindset'.
