COMMENTS
Since 1999, Mushroomhead has had an on-and-off rivalry with Iowa-based metal band Slipknot. The feud erupted (mostly among fans) due to the image similarities between the bands... such as the masks and costumes worn on stage. Before signing Slipknot, it's been said that Roadrunner Records was interested in signing Mushroomhead, but Mushroomhead passed on the deal. As of 2009 the rivalry is now officially over as confirmed in several interviews with band members.
The song 'Tattoo', on the album 'Savior Sorrow' (2006) has guest vocals by Sean Kane of Gizmachi.
On 11 June 2012, BLABBERMOUTH.NET reported that according to Twin Cities Metal, two members of Mushroomhead joined Slipknot's Sid Wilson on stage this past Saturday night (June 9) during Sid's DJ set at G.B. Leighton's Pickle Park in Fridley, Minnesota. Both Mushroomhead and Sid Wilson were booked on the same bill for this one night only. "Sid took to the stage after Mushroomhead, and Mushroomhead declared at one point during their set, 'Mushroomhead, Slipknot in the same room, acting like decent people'", reads a posting on the site. "'There is no motherfuckin' beef at all!' As Sid's set started with him alone behind his turntable kit, two members of Mushroomhead rushed onto the stage to play their 'water drum' kits during the first song."
Slipknot's Sid Wilson has also appeared as DJ Starscream on Mushroomhead side-project 10,000 Cadillacs '10K' (2015) hip-hop album, performing turntables on tracks 5 'Rockstar' and 8 'Whatcha Want'.
Mushroomhead ex-bands and side-projects include, but are not limited to: (216), 10,000 Cadillacs, A Killer's Confession, Crossfader, Detriot Ave., Hatrix, In Cold Blood, Integrity 2000, Nothing, Pitch Black Forecast, Purgatory, Rape Whistle, Runt, State Of Conviction, Tenafly Viper, The Alter Boys, The Ex-Faces, Unified Culture, and Ventana.
